Optimizing Electric Vehicle Autonomy

Funding Program: TÜBİTAK 1071 – Program for Enhancing Participation in International R&D Collaborations and Increasing Capacity to Benefit from International Research Funding

The OPEVA project supports the transition to fossil fuel-free mobility by developing technologies that promote sustainability, optimize resource utilization, and enhance the overall electric mobility experience. The project targets six key technology domains and four socio-economic impact areas to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and strengthen the future mobility ecosystem.

The first technology domain focuses on creating personalized vehicle performance and energy consumption models by collecting and analyzing data not only from the battery but also from onboard sensors, vehicle systems, and driver behavior. This enables more accurate energy management and improved driving efficiency.

The second technology domain (TD2) optimizes individual driving routes by combining vehicle data with external information such as road conditions, weather forecasts, charging station locations, and real-time charging station availability collected from backend systems.

The third technology domain (TD3) addresses the challenges of Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication, enabling reliable data exchange between vehicles and backend platforms to support intelligent mobility services.

Finally, the fourth technology domain (TD4) focuses on improving the charging experience by developing innovative charging station technologies and user-centric digital applications, making electric vehicle charging more efficient, accessible, and convenient.
